The organisation of activities depends on the climate generated through teacher-pupil interaction — a receptive atmosphere is essential to good learning.
Morning Assembly
The college day begins with the morning assembly — prayer, thought for the day and the National Anthem. Each Sadan is on duty for a week and is responsible for the arrangements, under the guidance of the Sadan in-charge.
Moral Education
A Havan Yajna is performed by staff members and pupil-teachers on special occasions. Lectures by eminent scholars are arranged on moral education, with special emphasis on the intellectual development and the refinement of the aesthetic and spiritual dimensions of pupil-teacher personality — through declamation, bhajan sangeet and recitation of verses from the scriptures.
Tutorial Groups
To build close contact between students and teachers, students are divided into smaller groups, each placed under a tutor who guides and helps them develop their personalities. Conveners of the tutorial groups form the Council of Students, assisting staff in organising various college functions.
Extension Lectures, Seminars & Workshops
These are organised in the college on topics related to the B.Ed. and M.Ed. curricula, to keep pupil-teachers abreast of the latest knowledge in a globalising world.
Education Society
The Education Society is organised with presidents and secretaries of subject associations as its members, supported by staff from languages, social sciences and sciences. Its activities include book reviews, brain-trust/academic tournaments, an inter-Sadan handwriting competition, a teaching-skill competition and a bulletin board.
Literary & Subject Societies
The Literary Association, Science & Maths Association, Social Sciences Association, Eco Club, Youth Welfare Society, Research Development, Guidance & Placement Cell, and Women’s Cell conduct activities in their respective fields.
College Magazine
The college magazine, “The Glory of Education”, has student editors for its English, Hindi, Science, Planning Forum and Mathematics Association sections, chosen through an expression test.
School Captains
School Captains (Pupil-Teacher Supervisors) are nominated for each practising school to serve as the vital link between the college and the practising school, assisting the lecturer-supervisors. Merit certificates are awarded to them.
